Description
Verdejo El Convertido
Verdejo El Convertido is an organic white wine with a clear straw colour in the glass. The wine has floral aromas and an expressive nose of gooseberry and apples with a peachy flavour. The palate is impressively rich with an abundance of fresh fruit and impressive acidity.
‘The Convert’ – this might be the wine to convert more of your friends to organic wines! Truly great stuff from the innovative de Haan Altes team. They have snapped up some top-quality organic vineyards in the heart of Castilla in central Spain, known for it’s old vines and traditional practices. The vineyard is located 180km from Madrid and is planted on sandy clay soils with poor organic content, rich in limestone and chalk.
These modern, fruit-driven wines punch well above their weight in price-quality terms. The Verdejo has lovely floral aromas and peachy fruit flavours, with a fresh, rounded character. The Tempranillo shows great class and depth of flavour with gentle tannins and the medium bodied Tempranillo Rosé is deep pink in colour with red berry fruit. They are all sealed under screw cap for ultimate freshness, reliability and convenience.
Grower: El Convertido
Matches: light summer salads.
As with all wines on this website, this wine has been made without animal products. This is not the case with so many wines that are commonly on sale in the UK. Far too many wines have animal products used as a so-called production aid; they will often have a large array of chemical additives as well. Have a look at our page on additives allowed in wines. Many vegan wines are also organic or better still bio-dynamically grown. The care taken in growing the grapes and making the wine comes through in the taste of the final product. This is a vegan wine.
