Description
Maison Blanche Les Piliers
Maison Blanche Les Piliers is also known by its full name Les Piliers de Maison Blanche, Montagne St Emilion. A dense and well-structured wine showing deep red colour. There are ripe aromas of blackberry and cassis, dark chocolate and earth, framed in oak. The palate shows deep blackberry liqueur with prune, spice, graphite and citrus. The finish is quite long with black fruits, mineral flavors and firm acidity. This is a solid Bordeaux and excellent value.
The Château Maison Blanche takes its name from a large and beautiful building in white stone located in the heart of a large park. This is teh family estate of Nicolas Despagne: an illustrious family of wine producers. There are 32 hectares on a single plot of this part of Montagne Saint-Émilion. The plot was converted to organic farming in 2006 and bio-dynamics followed in 2011.
“A family estate where enthusiasm is still cultivated by the slightly off-beat joy of creating natural, sincere and authentic wines” Nicolas Despagne.

No animal products are used in making this wine: this is the case with all wines on our website. This is not the case with so many wines that are commonly on sale in the UK. Far too many wines have animal products used as a so-called production aid; they will often have a large array of chemical additives as well. Have a look at our page on additives allowed in wines. Many vegan wines are also organic or better still bio-dynamically grown. The care taken in growing the grapes and making the wine comes through in the taste of the final product. This is a vegan wine.
