BOB Short for Kate Pinto Noir

BOB Short for Kate Pinto Noir is a bright and seductive cherry red hue. There are delicious aromas of wild berries, cherries and raspberry. The flow through to the palate is sublime with a continuation of these precise red fruits with a long and intelligent finish. This wine has the class and capacity to handle numerous dishes from cassoulet to more sophisticated game meats.

The wine is made by Ben Glover one of the top New Zealand winegrowers with over 25 years of experience as a national and international wine judge. When you open a bottle of Bob Short for Kate, you can be assured you are in for a treat.

Nicknamed ‘Bob’ by her family (some of you may recognize the Blackadder reference), Bob Short for Kate is a tribute to Kate Glover, an amazing young drama teacher and Ben’s sister, who passed away in 2018. Ben explains that he has looked to produce a wine that characterises the honesty, purity and confidence of Kate. These are organic, Marlborough wines, reliant on selected blocks from the family’s vines and exceptional fruit selection. Not to mention the skill of one of the region’s most highly regarded winemakers.

Serve at room temperature or slightly lower.

As with all wines on this website, this wine has been made without animal products. This is not the case with so many wines that are commonly on sale in the UK. Far too many wines have animal products used as a so-called production aid; they will often have a large array of chemical additives as well. Have a look at our page on additives allowed in wines. Many vegan wines are also organic or better still bio-dynamically grown. The care taken in growing the grapes and making the wine comes through in the taste of the final product. This is a vegan wine.
