Terre Precieuse Feteasca Neagra
Terre Precieuse Feteasca Neagra is an elegant but solid wine with a lovely ruby red colour. The aroma is discreet with characteristic notes of plum, blackberry, red fruits and cinnamon. The Burgundy style ageing in new oak barrels brings a finesse and roundness to the wine. On the finish, small red berries notes are present. Terre Precieuse Feteasca Neagra has great ageing potential.
To produce this high-end wine, the grower has selected the wines made with grapes from their best parcels of vines. Located on terraces, the yields are very low (below 30 litres per hectare). The vines are grown organically, meaning that no insecticide, herbicide, pesticide or any chemical fertilizers are used. This method of cultivation is certified by Eco cert and approved by the EC according to the European regulations.
The Dealu Mare (which in Romanian means “great hill slope”) is the most famous and renowned vine growing area in Romania. There are 60 kilometers of hillsides which start from the south-east of the Carpathian Mountains. These hillsides benefit from the early morning sun and a good sunlight all day long. The vineyards are on soil made up of limestone and clay.

As with all wines on this website, this wine has been made without animal products. This is not the case with so many wines that are commonly on sale in the UK. Far too many wines have animal products used as a so-called production aid; they will often have a large array of chemical additives as well. Have a look at our page on additives allowed in wines. Many vegan wines are also organic or better still bio-dynamically grown. The care taken in growing the grapes and making the wine comes through in the taste of the final product. This is a vegan wine.
