Rioja Crianza Quinto Arrio
Rioja Crianza Quinto Arrio relies less on oak than many Navarran wines, the Crianza has a deep inky quality which is sublime. The Crianza is lightly oaked, it is refreshing in its lightness, but still pleasing to those who like their Riojas a little bigger! The Magister Bibendi wines are Navarrsotillos showcase wines.
This Crianza (vintage) wine is the result of painstaking labour. Grapes are selected from the oldest vines, they are blended before ageing for 12 months in American and French oak barrels. The wine is then also aged in the bottle, at a constant temperature.
A lovely ruby red colour, very clean, with medium to high robe and russet highlights with an aroma of ripe red fruit, a background of cinnamon and spices. Good tannic structure in the mouth, persisting in the aftertaste with dark-roasted tones. Balanced and full of flavour.
Serve at 18º C, let it breathe.
Ageing: Recommended to drink up to 7 years after harvesting.
As with all wines on this website, this wine is made without the use of animal products. This is not the case with so many wines that are commonly on sale in the UK. Far too many wines have animal products used as a so-called production aid; they will often have a large array of chemical additives as well. Have a look at our page on additives allowed in wines. Many vegan wines are also organic or better still bio-dynamically grown. The care taken in growing the grapes and making the wine comes through in the taste of the final product. This is a vegan wine.
