Montalus Merlot Syrah, Vin de Pays d’Oc, Les Costieres de Pomerols.
Montalus Merlot Syrah: the ripe fruit flavours from the Merlot work perfectly together with the peppery notes of the Shiraz. It is really sumptuous for a wine of this level and tastes like a proper natural wine, not some anonymous cocktail. The grower, Les Costieres de Pomerols have produced a really smooth drinkable wine.
Pomerols is a sleepy village, shaded by dappled poplars, north of the Bassin de Thau in the South of France. Les Costieres De Pomerols was founded in 1932 but has moved with the times. It now produces some stunning entry level wines that are beautifully pure and simple.
Grower: Les Costieres de Pomerols.
As with all wines on this website, this wine has been made without animal products. This is not the case with so many wines that are commonly on sale in the UK. Far too many wines have animal products used as a so-called production aid; they will often have a large array of chemical additives as well. Have a look at our page on additives allowed in wines. Many vegan wines are also organic or better still bio-dynamically grown. The care taken in growing the grapes and making the wine comes through in the taste of the final product. This is a vegan wine.
