Crai Nou Pinot Noir
Crai Nou Pinot Noir is nice and slender with beautiful aromas of mulberries and blackberries. It is round with delicate tannins and good balance.
The estate includes 15 hectares that are planted with organically grown Pinot Noir. Crai Nou rarely produce more than 50,000 bottles per year, which means a really small yield. The Pinot Noir grapes are grown according to the lunar cycles so following bio-dynamic principles. The vineyard is certified organic by Ecocert (CE 2092/9).
The Dealu Mare which in Romanian means “great hill slope” is the most famous and renowned vine growing area in Romania. There are 60 kilometers of hillsides which start from the south-east of the Carpathian Mountains. These hillsides benefit from the early morning sun and a good sunlight all day long. The soil, on which the vineyards are planted, is made of limestone and clay.
This Pinot Noir is the result of the dream of a Burgundian specialist and a Romanian engineer. They were both convinced that the Dealu Mare was one of the few wine regions that could compete with the best Pinot Noirs in the world, but we will let you be the judge of that.
Pinot Noir “Crai Nou” Dealu Mare DOC, Romania
As with all wines on this website, this wine has been made without animal products. This is not the case with so many wines that are commonly on sale in the UK. Far too many wines have animal products used as a so-called production aid; they will often have a large array of chemical additives as well. Have a look at our page on additives allowed in wines. Many vegan wines are also organic or better still bio-dynamically grown. The care taken in growing the grapes and making the wine comes through in the taste of the final product. This is a vegan wine.
