Claude Carre Champagne, Champagne Brut, 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs, Claude Carre.
Claude Carre Champagne is 100% his own effort and 100% his own vines. A pale straw coloured; the good white creamy mousse holds well with fine bubbles showing excellent persistence. The Champagne is soft, seductive and has a slightly biscuity nectar. It is bursting with life, with a mellow but crisp finish. The palate is rich, the biscuity flavours good; there is almost a creamy texture with a crisp dry finish.
Claude’s wine epitomises what we consider to be real Champagne. He owns all his own Chardonnay vines. These are in the heart of some of the areas most prestigious vineyards around Ambonnay on the Montagne de Reims. Claude Carre Champagne is simply refreshing. This description fits Claude himself, his operation and his 1er Cru Champagne.
Grower: Claude Carre.
As with all wines on this website, this wine has been made without animal products. This is not the case with so many wines that are commonly on sale in the UK. Far too many wines have animal products used as a so-called production aid; they will often have a large array of chemical additives as well. Have a look at our page on additives allowed in wines. Many vegan wines are also organic or better still bio-dynamically grown. The care taken in growing the grapes and making the wine comes through in the taste of the final product. This is a vegan wine.
