Champagne Piollot Brut “Cuvee de Reserve”
Champagne Piollot: a light golden yellow colour with a delicate bead of bubbles. This Champagne has a mature, floral nose of hawthorn fruit and notes of cherry plums. It is straightforward and fresh in the mouth, it is really silky smooth. The full richness of the Pinot Noir shows through beautifully. Full and well balanced with a good length. Ideal as an aperitif.
Roland Piollot is a serious winemaker. He is is just as serious about the quality of the soil in which his vines grow. Some would think he goes to extraordinary lengths: he even cares for his heaps of organic compost that is carefully prepared for use on his soil. The vineyard is being converted to bio-dynamic farming so no chemicals are used on plants or animals and insect; no fertilisers are used except natural ones. Roland is the fifth generation to farm the Piollot domaine. He is definitely not backward in his thinking and is partly spurred on by his Dominique Moreau. She has a few hectares of her own nearby that is already converted to bio-dynamic farming.
Grower: Roland Piollot.
Grapes: 50% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 10% of Pinot Meunier.

No animal products are used in making this wine: this is the case with all wines on our website. This is not the case with so many wines that are commonly on sale in the UK. Far too many wines have animal products used as a so-called production aid; they will often have a large array of chemical additives as well. Have a look at our page on additives allowed in wines. Many vegan wines are also organic or better still bio-dynamically grown. The care taken in growing the grapes and making the wine comes through in the taste of the final product. This is a vegan wine.
